A couple of popular titles on the ps2 and ps3 has been released recently for the playstation portable and playstation portable go a few weeks ago. Gran Turismo PSP and Motorstorm Arctic edge has been releases this month and both are fantastic titles. Has anyone else played these games? here I will do a light review on both titles to see if you would like to go out and buy them.
Gran Turismo PSP- The game continues on the popular Gran Turismo franchise which is known as a "Racing Simulator". While having great physics and different driving styles depending on your car and track it leaves out on one of the most basic things in racing games…crashes. Unfortunately there is no possible way to crash in this game (though you may spin out which will cause you to want to restart the race since it takes so long to get back on track) but the amazing racing quality and graphics makes this game fairly good without it. This game runs in 60fps which is pretty good and the graphics look like a step down from the ps2 titles which is still amazing considering it is a portable system. One of the major downsides is that you only have 4 car dealers to choose from every in-game day (about 2-3 races is a day) but on the upside there are over 800 cars to choose from. There is no career mode and every track is already available…this can be a good thing or a bad thing, personally I find it good. There are 3 modes to play in though, single race, drift trial, and time trial all are very fun modes I especially enjoy playing time trial (you get no money for this though). There is much more to review but as i said this is just a light review.
Tips: Save your money from the first few challenges and check the dealers every day until you see lotus. Then buy the Lotus Elise and go to the real courses and select the fuji Speedway 90's and cut the grass near the end it should get you far and once you get S rank you will be getting 100,000$ for a 3 lap race (if you can keep up).
Motorstorm is a fantastic game that continues with the motorstorm series that started on the playstation 3 and moved to ps2 and psp systems recently with Arctic Edge. Motorstorm is an offroad racing game where you can race with big rigs, snowcats (snow plows), snowmobiles, ATVs, and more. You race in tons of tracks with various typs of vehicles and there is also online. I never got it to work but many people have it is still starting and may be slow or no connection but at least its there 
This game has many options to customize the looks of your vehicle and I like to make a specific style for all my vehicles and I made every one look that way but everyone does something different. Like before there is much more to review on but this is a light review.
Overall they are both great racing games and if you are into racing I would highly reccomend them both. If you want motorstorm make sure you are over the age of 13 though becasue there is a small amount of violence and it is rated T for teen. Unfortunatly both games are priced at 40$ a piece so you might want to wait for a sale but if you are like me you will buy it now and you wont be dissapointed.
